Cleanliness…

….is next to Godliness; so says the old adage.
When I was younger, one of the best things my mother taught me was to tidy up after doing my work and that I still do with great passion.
Mums, our children need to learn good qualities in life from us and one of those being cleanliness: tidying up of their rooms, keeping their appearances clean, knowing that mum has cleaned up the house and it must stay clean.
I travelled out of town recently to visit a family well known to us over the years, and I had so much looked forward to that visit until I arrived at their home. Practically everything was in disarray. The children of that home are young but already knew how to make a serious mess without a care in the world. You know, my Pastor once said, “When you visit a home you will know how clean they are as soon as you visit their toilet, it speaks volumes”
Train up a child in a way he should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it. (Proverbs 22: 5-7) Trust me, it works! Won’t you take time to train your child? Give him or her something they will be proud of later in life?
Let us not keep up appearances, let us be what we really are in appearances. God loves cleanliness, do you know how many times he said “Be thou clean!” and He really meant be clean.
God bless you,
